Are You In B2B Sales?
This is how I grow my newsletter
I wanted to share all the ways that I am growing my newsletter and potentially give you some tips on how to grow your own!
In This Email You Will Find:
Are You In B2B Sales?
What’s happening with my YouTube and my SEO
What I have to sell you
Are You In B2B Sales?
So, I know the title of this section is a little different from what I am going to talk about here, but don’t worry, it will all link up in the end.
So, here are all the ways that I grow my own newsletter:
1. Twitter Giveaways
On Twitter I post twice a day. The regular posting gives me a bit of attention to my profile, and from there, there is an opportunity to subscribe to my newsletter. You can see that here.
That works okay, but the real growth comes from posting giveaways. The giveaways are things like swipe files, strategy docs… all that stuff.
To get the giveaway, people have to comment on the post and from there, I send them an automated message that delivers a link by which people then need to opt in to my newsletter to then get the item offered. The commenting on the post increases the reach of the post and from there, the list grows. The commenting is essential.
2. LinkedIn Giveaways
I run the same strategy as I do on Twitter, but the only problem is, the automated process is removed. To deliver the lead magnets, I then need of my team members to manually reach out to every person who commented on the post. Its a pain and it takes time, but the way I see it, I would be happy getting a new subscriber on my list at $2 a lead, so to pay one of my team members to manually outreach to those who commented on my LinkedIn post… it works out being cheeper.
3. YouTube
I put a lot of content out on YouTube (more on that later). Each video I put out has a call out to my newsletter, and from there, hopefully the organic traffic I recieve is driven here.
4. SEO
At the moment we are putting out about 15 articles every month. That results in some okay organic traffic (more on this later) which then has the opportunity to see my pop-ups offering a lead magnet which then drive them to this newsletter.
5. Meetings
Anyone who books a meeting with my via Calendly is given the option to join my newsletter.
I have set-up a Zapier automation that automatically syncs up my booking pages with this newsletter which tends to drive a lot more high value subscribers as these people both wanted to meet me at some point and therefor, are potentiall customers or are in an industry related to email marketing.
Now odds are… if you are reading this you fall into one of those categories.
But why am I telling you this.
The reason I titled this ‘Are You In B2B Sales’ is to illustrate how you can use email to actually drive business.
It’s hard keeping people aware of you stuff constantly, but by writing this newsletter every week, I have a way to do that enmasse on a regular basis.
Every time I send a newsletter, I have an opportunity to both demonstrate my skills in email marketing, and an opportunity to strike up a conversation about my services.
Almost every email I send out, I get a response from someone wanting to talk email.
It’s great.
I am hitting two birds with one stone. I am putting out content that is monitized AND I am giving myself an opportunity to sell my higher ticket services.
If you are in B2B sales, I highly recommend starting a newsletter, even if its to simply take off some of the work load of manually reaching out to leads from anywhere between 1 week ago to two years ago. I have landed work using my newsletter from people I was talking to back in 2022.
You just need to be present in people’s minds, and this newsletter helps me do that for, as of writting, 1756 people two times a week, every week and the only expense is a $60 a month Beehiiv subscription.
You do the math on that one.
What’s happening with my YouTube and my SEO
A while back I talked about how I had started investing a bunch of money into SEO.
So far I have spent about $15k on articles.
The results…
Pretty lack lustre if I am honest:

Above is a screenshot of my impressions, over the last 16 months.
I was really hoping for more.
I am getting a bit of traffic which is great because it helps me grow my newsletter, but outside of that, the traffic is not really resulting in calls.
The plan?
I am going to write up 15 more articles starting this month and from there, I am going to then take a look at the strategy going forward. I am not giving up, but I really need to decide how long it is going to take to start ranking for keywords that are going to result in sales.
Now on the YouTube front… I have started putting out new videos every single day.
The results… pretty lack lustre as well.

I was hoping to get some more traffic these past few days, but I am aware, that YouTube is more acting as proof rather than acting as a traffic source in itself.
I am going to keep pushing over these next two months and report back later.
