How We Build A Flow In 7 Days

Out of everything I do, building solid automations is one of the biggest contributors to getting our clients past $1,000,000 in revenue with email.

Most agencies like to take their sweet time with this process. I have seen some agencies estimate as high as 2 months for a full flow build out, but today, I am going to show you how we can get a flow done in 7 working days.

Here is how we do it:

Day 1: Journey mapping

On day 1, we hop on a call with our clients and map out exactly how our flow is going to look. In that session, we are going through every filter, every split and every internal notification we want to add to a specific automation. This is the bones of our automation.


Day 2: Building, Master Template & Scripting

On day 2, we are building that outline in Klaviyo, scripting the emails, and designing a master template to model future designs.

Day 4: Scripting Complete

On day 4, all the scripting will have been completed, along with the master templates. Following approval, we then push the emails to design based on the scripting.

Day 5: Designs

Once we receive approval on the copy, its time to design. We model all of our email designs off of the master template that was built on day 2, making the whole seamless.

Day 6: Build

Once the designs are approved, we push the emails to build into Klaviyo.

Day 7: Go live

Once the emails are complete, we turn your flow to live and you are good to go.

➡️ How to do it:

- Duplicate your existing pop-up in Klaviyo
- Switch display type to Flyout
- Trigger it on URLs with “/product”
- Delay for 45 seconds
- Exclude existing subscribers
- Limit to once every 5 days

Now you’ve got a second shot at a high-intent shopper who didn’t convert on the first pop.
