I make 6 YouTube videos a week

This email is less about email marketing and more of a business update/general advice on running a business.

For those who have been following me for a while, you will know that I have taken a break from LinkedIn.

The reason being… I want to focus more on YouTube… the reason being, YouTube is just a better platform for me right now.

I have two channels, one focusing on email marketing, and one just focusing on my journey as a business owner (check both of them out above).

I make these for two reasons:

  1. To get clients and save for a mortgage

  2. To document my own journey

As In-box has grown bigger and bigger, my time has become increasingly scarce. I have really started looking at how I spend my days, and where my energy ends up going and what generates the best ROI. I have found two things: LinkedIn and Twitter feel like a waste of time, and YouTube continues to bring me more and more of an audience.

As a result, I have decided to focus on creating three videos every week for each of my channels with a real focus on just increasing the size of my audience.

I think that, if done properly, these two channels will become the most valuable part of In-box’s marketing strategy.

Why am I saying this? Because I want you to think about this as well.

I made a video about this, in fact.

I think every business owner should have a YouTube channel of sorts, even if you are not posting on it regularly.

Why?

Because of organic reach, and for social proof.

I cannot tell you how many sales calls I get on, which only happen because people know I have a YouTube channel and have watched one or two videos. Note, these people have not found me on YouTube, but they have found me elsewhere, and decided to get on a call because they have seen the YouTube afterwards.

The social proof that having a YouTube channel builds beats any case study document, closing strategy or reviews I could ever post on my website.

If you have the time, make a couple of videos, post them, and put them where your audience can see them, whether it be on your website, LinkedIn, Calendly link or on your checkout page. Nothing shows you’re an expert like talking about what you do on camera.
