Should you show the discount code on your sign-up form?
YES... oh my god yes.
Should you show the discount code on your sign-up form?
Yes. Every time. No debate.
Here’s why 👇
If you force someone to go check their inbox to get their 10% off code, you’re doing two things:
You’re kicking them off your website
You’re relying on them to come back to spend money
Now they’re stuck in their inbox, distracted by 12 other emails, and probably clicking on someone else’s sale.
Congrats, you just lost a sale… so your welcome flow could claim the revenue later.
That might make your email metrics look good.
But it’s bad for business.
Here’s what we do instead to get our clients past $1,000,000 in revenue through email
✅ Ask for just an email on Step 1 (keep it simple)
✅ Show the discount code immediately on the final step
✅ Add a button that auto-applies the code at checkout
If you're using Klaviyo and Shopify, this setup takes 15 minutes.
The lift in on-site conversion? Totally worth it.
I’ve had to explain this to so many clients.
They see welcome flow revenue drop, panic, and think something’s broken.
But what’s actually happening is total store revenue is going up — because you’re making it easier for people to check out.
