The goals for 2026
This is what we will achieve
This is everything that we will achieve in 2026. Note, this is all to play a supporting role in becoming one of the biggest email and SMS marketing agencies by 2030.
I like to write both of these to keep myself publicly accountable. I am not a fan of that ‘keep your goals private’ mentality… that is tall poppy syndrome in disguise. I also like to write these to really flesh out what I want.
I have decided to break these goals down into two areas: sales & marketing + operations
So here is a full rundown of what we want, and yes, Mom (I know you are reading this), I also have personal development goals as well.
Sales and marketing:
YouTube - By the end of this year, we will have reached 10k subscribers on this channel here. Now, this is not the channel where I teach people how to do email, but instead it is my follow-along channel, where I just talk about my business. I am confident that the personal brand I build around my business will, in the future, be more valuable than the business I currently have, and building this channel is part of that. I also want this channel to be monetised
10k followers on Twitter - I want to grow this for the same reason as the above. I stagnated a bit with the Twitter growth this year. I think my lead magnets dried up, so I am going to be creating a bunch of new ones shortly and distributing them across the internet
20k followers on LinkedIn - Same as the above
6k subs on the newsletter - Same as the above (the lead magnet will grow the newsletter).
New website - I hate my website. In 2026 Q2, I am going to hire someone to rebuild it
SEO - I had a goal this year of dialling in the SEO, but the team we hired fell through. I think there is still some opportunity here as long as it leans into AI in terms of SERP’s. In Q3 I will try and hire for this.
Podcast - In Q2 I will launch on podcast to both expand the network and generate leads and have a library of content that can be repurposed into short form
Skool Community - By the end of this year, my Skool community will have 100 paying members in it. All of the growth efforts across Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube will be pushing towards this community. The above efforts will play into supporting this goal.
Instagram in TikTok - I am going to be going all in on these platforms this year. I have actually hired someone already to fully build out a content team for me over the next two weeks. Once the team is ready, in February, we are going to start posting on TikTok and Instagram daily (EVERY DAY) along with 10 stories a day. I think this is the missing piece to massive organic growth. On top of that, all of this content can be repurposed across a bunch of other platforms as well. This is actually my biggest goal for this year.
Operations
$900k - We currently have a pretty big warchest in the company accounts, but by the end of the year, we will want to have about $900k set aside. Why? Because in 2027 we are going to be buying other agencies.
Work - By the end of this year, I do not want to be doing any more client-facing work. Of the 40 clients we currently work with, I am only truly in the weeds with about 5 of them. The reality is, I am great at strategy, but my team is better at execution and on par with me when it comes to strategy. It makes sense for me to just focus on sales and marketing
Retainers - In 2026, by the end of the year, we will have no retainers under $3k
Team - To support the workload I suspect we will have, I will need to have 5 separate pods or teams operating within the company. Currently, we have 3 (not including myself). We will need to grow.
General manager - We will need to have someone who replaces me as the day-to-day manager of the company
If you fully read through the above, you will notice that most of my goals sit in the sales and marketing category, as opposed to ops. That is deliberate. For this company to grow, my attention needs to be more towards generating revenue as opposed to building out the operational side of the business. We can do that because, for the past 3 years, that’s exactly what I have been doing: building out ops. At this point, our operations are about 90% of where I want them to be and that remaining 10% will get ironed out in Q1. After that, it’s all about marketing and generating sales.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
