The More Times You Show Your Discount... The Better

This is what 90% of the accounts I look at do when it comes to email. And it’s a shame because it’s one of the biggest things that prevents them from getting past $1,000,000 in revenue.

Here is what happens:

They have a pop-up offering anywhere between 10% to 20% off a reader’s first purchase.

If the person doesn’t purchase, they go through a welcome series that typically lasts between 3 - 6 emails in length. In those emails, they are shown the 20% off.

After that… nothing

The subscriber, outside of the welcome series, if they have not made a purchase, will never see that offer ever again. Even if they have opened every single email you have sent them.

That is crazy.

There is no reason that they shouldn't see that offer in every campaign, and in every email flow you send them.

Do you know where you make the most profit when it comes to your customers?

It’s not on the first order. It’s on the orders that happen after that. Get that first purchase across the line and make up for any loss in revenue when it comes to that discount on the first purchases down the road. Here is what you should be doing:

Step 1 

In every flow, have a customer and non-customer split. For non-customers, send them their discount code from the pop-up in every email they receive.

For existing customers, do not include that incentive.

Step 2

Split your campaigns out with one version going to customers and one version going to non-customers.

In the non-customer segment, include the discount code in the email.

Step 3

Have a pop-up that displays the discount code to those who are in Klaviyo and have not placed an order.

IT REALLY IS THAT EASY

This will absolutely increase your onsite conversion rates and the overall effectiveness of your email marketing.
